CLWAC Plein Air, Watercolor Demo, Garden Tour and Lunch at Wave Hill

Hema has always had a passion for drawing and painting. She started working with watercolors in earnest in 2012 and her love for the medium has not waned since. Painting in a loose and impressionistic style, she enjoys painting various subject matter — urban landscapes, seascapes, portraits and still life. In the last few years her focus has been on plein air painting in watercolors. Her goal is to capture the mood and essence of a place or person in a manner that evokes an emotional response from the viewer.  She has been juried in and won several awards in prestigious plein air competitions like Plein Air Easton, Paint Annapolis and Hudson Valley Plein Air Festival amongst other events in the NY/NJ area. Her small watercolors have won several prizes, notably in Garden State Watercolor Society's “Small but Mighty” shows.  Hema is a Signature member of North East Watercolor Society, Associate Member of Garden State Watercolor Society and supports other local art organizations.  Her work can be viewed on Instagram @hemaguptapaintings.
